Saturday's FUN wedding

Yesterday I went to the most wonderful wedding! And I got to take pictures. It took place at the bride's parents' house near Lake Anna, a cozy spot surrounded by woods. There were tents set up for shelter, should it rain.... and it did, but it didn't detract one bit from the festivities!

This was what a wedding should be. You could feel the love among all who attended. Friends brought food. Little kids ran around, getting muddy, and not one scolding, no whining or crying........ Grandmas and grandpas found a warm spot in the garage by the wood stove. They kept track of the babies, wrapping them in blankets and waiting for the ceremony to begin.

There was food for before the wedding, and beer and wine and soft drinks. There was music and a magnificent bonfire for the macho guys to stand around. More food after the ceremony, yummy homemade dishes and dips and chips and crackers and cheese.... More food than could possibly be consumed!

And I took pictures! I ran around snapping like crazy all of the people, the funny things that happen, the unexpected, the mistakes in "decorum", the candid stuff. And, thanks to the digital camera, I can get as carried away as I want with no fear of cost!

I LOVE weddings! But of all the weddings I have attended, the best ones have been the ones like this one. The love I witnessed between all the families, the inlaws, the cousins, the friends who came to see Trish and Noodle tie the knot.... Oh, it was obvious the love the bride and groom have for each other! One has only to look at the pictures I was privileged to take!!

And EVERYONE had fun! They dressed in casual clothes for the occasion, got mud on their shoes, laughed, cried... Yes this was what a wedding should be!
